I am emailing to invite you to participate in a political and field update webinar this Monday, May 2nd from 3-4:00 p.m.
The purpose of the webinar is to highlight movement in the budget bill and the work of lead advocates from the Center for Community Solutions, Ohio Association of Second Harvest Foodbanks (OASHF), and the Ohio Association of Area Agencies on Aging (o4a), and Advocates for Ohio’s Future (AOF).
The sub bill (the House budget bill, including amendments) is expected to be released on April 28th. You will hear reactions to the sub bill, including a briefing on which issues have gained traction in the House. Looking ahead, we will highlight key dates coming up in the process and how you, as an advocate in the field, can have the biggest impact on your elected officials. As the budget bill moves to the Senate, we will highlight areas where your support is needed most.
We will hear from a number of Advocates for Ohio’s Future coalition partners, including:
• Susan Ackerman, Senior Budget and Fiscal Analyst of the Center for Community Solutions
• Lisa Hamler-Fugitt, Executive Director of the Ohio Association of Second Harvest Foodbanks (OASHF)
• Larke Recchie, Executive Director of the Ohio Association of Area Agencies on Aging (o4a)
The staff of Advocates for Ohio’s Future will also provide you with resources to communicate with lawmakers to prioritize the most vulnerable in this state budget.
