Hi Advocate,

“I often wonder about what it’s like to be a child in a homeless shelter. . . . We want to make their quality of life as good as children who don’t live in shelters.”

Jeanine directs the YWCA in Elyria, Ohio, providing emergency shelter for homeless women with children and people with disabilities with support from the federal Community Development Block Grant (CDBG).

Watch this video to learn more about how Jeanine and the YWCA support the community.

Advocates for Ohio's Future needs your help to collect more stories about housing assistance and its impact on vulnerable families and communities. Will you share your story with OhioSPEAKS today?

We need stories of struggle and hope, like Jeanine's story, to illustrate the value of stable, affordable housing programs to lawmakers, the media, and the public.

Will you take a moment to share your story -- as a consumer or provider -- today? Click here to write your story or upload a video.

Please forward this email to shelters, affordable housing providers, and struggling families in your community to give them the opportunity to get involved and share their story.
