Click on your county at the link above to view the local trends in Medicaid, SNAP (Food Stamps), and Unemployment from 2007 - 2011. The county stats can be a resource for you to share our narrative that strong communities invest in vital public services to benefit the local economy. Nutrition initiatives like SNAP and health insurance make better jobs in every county.
Your county trends will help you paint a local picture with your state and local lawmakers as we work together to advocate for Ohio's future.
If you click on one of the darker counties, you'll notice personal stories are highlighted. The OhioSPEAKS stories are of families and communities that have benefited from publicly funded health, human service, and early care & education programs.
The stories on the map came from everyday Ohioans, like you. Some are told by those who received services, others by folks who run programs. Over the last eight months, individuals and organizations have shared stories with us to help increase lawmakers' understanding of how public services strengthen families and communities. Submit your story today.
