Mark your calendar for Monday, May 20 and join Ohioans statewide who are meeting, calling and tweeting in support of health care for families and communities in Ohio!
On May 20th, citizens are coming together across the state to urge our lawmakers to take advantage of a historic opportunity to expand health care and strengthen communities. This expansion benefits Ohio taxpayers, small businesses and workers, making Ohio a better place to live, work, and invest.
As you may know, Governor Kasich extended healthcare coverage to 275,000 Ohioans in the Executive version of the state budget, but the House removed the provision and the Senate is stalling. Unless the General Assembly acts quickly, inaction will prevent Ohio from getting the healthcare coverage that will make our state more competitive.
How to get involved on May 20
1. Show up at a health care event near you to voice your support for health care expansion. Events are happening in Cincinnati, Cleveland, Columbus, Lima, Springfield, Wooster, Youngstown, and Zanesville. Click the link for locations, times and registration.
2. Make 3 calls to key state legislators and urge them to expand health care by June 30. A simple message and instructions are on our website.
3. Show your support on Facebook or Twitter by making a photo message like the one at right. Instructions and sign are online here. This is a great action to do with your colleagues or bring along a sign for quick photos at an event.
No matter where you are on May 20, we need your help to show legislators that time is running out to extend health care coverage and strengthen our state. Thanks for all your work to strengthen families and communities in Ohio.
