Good afternoon Advocate,

We all want a better Ohio, an Ohio where people are strong, healthy, and able to put their creativity and intelligence toward our better future. Food is one of our most basic needs. Food is also medicine, energy, community, and hope.

Because access to a stable source of nutritious food is such a basic - yet too often missing - component of a healthy life, Advocates for Ohio's Future and the Ohio Association of Foodbanks are working to raise awareness of this critical issue during September as part of national Hunger Action Month.

You can participate in Hunger Action month by joining a webinar Friday, September 20, 2013 from 10:00 - 11:00 am.

Please register here.

We will share the latest updates on SNAP funding and the Farm Bill, changes to Ohio's nutrition programs, critical information on the connection between hunger and health, and tools and resources you can use to keep Ohio strong, healthy and productive.

National and statewide advocates speaking on the webinar include:

  • Jillien Meier, Program Manager, the Center for Best Practices, Share Our Strength
  • Lisa Hamler-Fugitt, Executive Director, Ohio Association of Foodbanks
  • Dr. Michelle Boose, MD, MPH - Medical Director, ProMedica
  • Will Petrik, State Director, Advocates for Ohio's Future

Please forward on the invitation to friends, family and colleagues that care about strengthening families and communities.
