Hello Advocate,

What does 138 percent of the federal poverty level look like for an individual or household?

Beginning today, more Ohioans will be able to apply for Medicaid benefits online at www.Benefits.Ohio.gov.  As a result of the decision to expand health care access, adults with income up to 138 percent of poverty may now apply for Medicaid coverage through the website. The chart on the right side shows income eligibility limits for different household sizes.

Thanks to your advocacy, roughly 366,000 Ohioans are now eligible for health care coverage under the Medicaid expansion beginning on January 1, 2014.

The new online enrollment options are part of a new eligibility system that Ohio launched on October 1, 2013. Ohio Benefits is a simple, self-service website that makes it easier for Ohioans to learn what type of health care coverage may be available to them.

Please share this information with your networks and your family, friends and colleagues. We need your help to let people who are eligible for health care coverage know that they can go to www.Benefits.Ohio.gov to apply. Thanks.
